Pasadena Charm Fall Editorial Session

Model: Taryn Rothstein of Pasadena Charm // Dress: SPELL

Tiffany // North Hollywood, CA

Tiffany Tram is many things…a dancer, an art school counselor and a creative personality…also known as the extremely gifted floral talent behind my eco-chic engagement shoot from back in April. She is beautiful, poised, kind, and humble with a passion for change. My first introduction to her work was at Brandon & Erica’s beautiful wedding last year. Getting to catch up with this girl and capture some of her best qualities was such a treat. Enjoy.

Jetton Family | Fireman’s Flat Portrait Photography

I think family portraiture is here to stay in my book. Seeing the love, smiles, and endearment between family members is priceless. I was honored to return to Fireman’s Flat for a second round. When it was about to rain, it didn’t..much to my relief. Not going to lie, I have been tweaking these for the past few months ever so slightly to make sure they are just the right exposure.

As dear friends of ours, the Jettons aren’t your average family. Their unique personalities and spice for life are getting passed on to their sons and I am jealous for it. They know how to love. They are free in the truest sense, hilarious, honest and passionate all at once. And their two little boys are the cutest little monkeys I want to steal. Robbie came along for the ride with this one and while I wasn’t sure how long I’d be able to keep the attention of their two darling boys, sure enough I was able to get it for long enough. By the end of the session I was already getting a personal invite from Judah to come play with him and Josiah at home afterwards. Truly an honor.

Rhodalynn, Steven, Judah and Josiah. You make a gorgeous family! We are so happy to have you in our lives! Now about adopting your sons..

Now for some couples shots to capture their love for one another. It just comes through these photos so beautifully.

Don’t you just love her boots?

I love that she is holding some twigs that Josiah had just handed to her as a present for mommy. : )

Hanson Family | Azusa Family Portrait Photography

I’ve always been into art and DIY for as long as I can remember…by the time I was 8 I was already into paintings, murals, oil pastels, weavings, plaster reliefs, drawings, water color, DIY cards and jewelry, and even home made presents for my sister (one year I was probably 7 years old and exchanged painted rocks, possibly one of the dumbest gifts ever but at the time it was really cool I promise!) and for friends (one year I made handmade journals). It kind of just all started the day my mom enrolled us in art class with our art teacher, Joan, who ran an art “shack” right down the street from the Del Mar Fair. Joan made art fun. She was eclectic, quirky and nice all in one. But I never did discover which was my best medium there. In fact, I wasn’t good at any medium that really mattered to me (I had failed at drawing and painting), so I finally ended up an utterly frustrated artist until I finally discovered photography, at which point that love for “creating” really began to explode. In college, my walls were a sea of a constantly evolving collection of  photographs. I was pretty much the unofficial “official” photographer.

This holiday season, I feel especially satisfied because I’ve been given the opportunity to revisit the art of creating for others via holiday card family portraits for families dear to my heart. Caleb, Hannah, Ashlinn and Carys are one of those special families. When I’m not spending time with the girls, I get to constantly hear cute stories from Hannah about these two girls and I’ve finally gotten to capture these two of the cutest rascals you will ever meet on film. Thank you so much for allowing me to do this shoot – your lives enrich and touch the lives of so many others. I so appreciate you in my life!

The Chan Clan | Newport Beach Family Portrait Session

If there’s one thing to know about the Chan Clan it’s the fact that they know how to show you a good time. When I was younger, I had the privilege of having four uncles who knew how to spoil my sister and I. From the time I was in my teeny toddler years to my teenage years, my Uncle Curtis was one who knew how to give my sister and I a fun ride. When times were dull as a kid, Uncle Curtis would take us around on fun excursions to anywhere and everywhere exciting that my parents might have lacked the energy for – Seaworld, Disneyland, Mission Beach, boogie boarding, golfing, and the list would go on and on.  Today I am so happy that he’s passed that love juice onto his wife, and four kids Michelle, Jonathan, Grace and Matthew. From spending just a few hours with them, I can see the Chan family’s spice for life has continued on even past my childhood years. I could see so much joy in their family as oodles of giggles and laughter were captured on my camera from the shoot.

Each year they go on a photo excursion to get their yearly family portraits taken, to be sent out on Christmas cards. My Aunty Mae and Uncle Curtis are a very well connected couple and typically will send out a couple hundred Christmas cards to friends and family each year. I like to call her the Martha Stewart in our family. Not only she is super gifted at hospitality and entertaining, she also has her own floral business she started from the ground up from which she can boast over 20 years of floral design and event planning experience. Out of all the people she could have asked, this year I was SO privileged to be asked by Aunty Mae to do their Christmas photos! Don’t you think she did a splendid job picking out their outfits? Here are the photos that entailed! Enjoy : )
