Fiona + Andres // Downtown Los Angeles Engagement

I shot Fiona & Andres’ engagement story back in August. They are two pretty awesome individuals who love well and, have loved their city well. Fiona and I have known each other since the early days of college. I was pretty honored that they asked me to photograph them as they enter this new season of life. My times with them have been sweet and epic. How often do you get a couple that pulls out a silly string fight at the end of a photoshoot? When I asked them why they’re getting married, they said they realize they are way better together than they are apart. I love that.

Thank you to my friend and photographer Mina Gabalawy for coming all the way out to 2nd shoot!

Godwin and Nicola // Los Angeles, CA Engagement

In just 2 days these two will be getting married. Their lives will become one, and they will be celebrating love and the relationships that have molded them along the way. Their lives will never be the same, and that’s for the better.

Just 6 weeks ago they got back from spending over 2 years in Perth, Australia, where they have been championing identity in marginalized youth. They are back in the states now where they’ll be championing love in their own marriage.

It was destiny that hit the day they met upon their first meeting in Perth. It was an instant connection…where they fit like lock and key. It was then they discovered that though they were 9,000 miles away from home, their hometowns were one and the same. Just 14 months later Godwin got down on one knee and laid out the question on a beautiful jetty overlooking the bay. Of course, Nicola said yes. And 4 months later they are getting hitched!

It is amazing what these two carry, and what they have in store in their futures. In just 2 days justice will be married to mercy. I adore their longing for restoration of significance in the lives of the underprivileged. And, it is a joy to capture their story. Thanks for your wonderful help Alison!

Ben and Anna // Malibu, CA Engagement

Today I want to introduce an amazing couple: Ben and Anna. These two are probably some of the biggest hearted, people-loving, prayer-loving authentic hearts I know. I can’t think of a couple who love  justice, prayer and mercy quite the way they do. When I took their story on, I decided to embark on a journey of capturing their story outside my regular means where I chronicle their lives leading up to their marriage.

I believe that all people have a story that deserves to be told and theirs was just one of the many that I get the honor of highlighting. In just 18 days they will be tying the knot because they believe in marriage. In just 18 days they will each be covenanting to one another because they’ve decided each is worth spending the rest of their life with.

Their story: It was a fine summer evening last July 4th at the Pasadena Rosebowl with the typical July 4th firework display and all. Little did the two know that when they met, they’d be united as one just one year later. What started with a friendly introduction became an in-N-Out date, which grew as they saw their paths converge. Just 8 months after their first meeting, their love relationship finally blossomed into a surprise proposal in Kona just 7 months later after their first meeting. Naturally being a lover of family, Ben bought tickets home just to propose in a place where family was thoughtfully interwoven into the proposal process. One year later and Ben and Anna will be tying the knot this July 5th!

Excited to celebrate them next month in July! You can also find me on InstagramFacebook, or Twitter.
