Erica & Brandon | Wedding Invitations

Receiving wedding invitations in the mail has always been the height of enjoyment for me during wedding season. If I had seen a few other wedding invitation inspirations during my wedding planning process, I know that I might have been able to pull off a few more impressive strings with mine.

You might be amazed to find out Brandon was the groomzilla in Erica & Brandon’s wedding planning process and that he did such a fine job designing these himself, don’t you think? Last night Erica & Brandon finally tied the knot, at their elegant outdoor wedding located at Castle Green, Pasadena. Which, did I mention, is an absolutely stunning and gorgeous outdoor wedding venue! And now… the moment of release…dun dun dun! The invitations, themselves.

Congratulations E&B!!!!!

Aren’t these just adorable? Love love love!

Check back soon for Katrina & Eric’as engagement session!

Erica’s Backyard DIY Bridal Shower

With just 17 days until their wedding, last month I was invited to document Erica’s special day of being showered by the love of her closest family and friends. I absolutely love capturing small details in general so I was in heaven when I was able to capture these, which were so lovingly put together by Erica’s bridesmaids. Set in a cozy backyard in Downey with the most beautiful lavendar trees in the background, the afternoon was set up to be a memorable one.

Elegant Italian lights as well as hanging paper dresses stood above the white linen tables which were decorated with fresh white hydrangeas. From the “Table of Love” where encouragements and marriage tips were written, to a handmade book of photographs and loving words of the invited guests,  to the cutest “From Miss to Mrs.” bunting EVER… I just could not stop capturing the abundance of keepsake details I know Erica will treasure forever.  Congrats Erica and Brandon! I couldn’t be more blessed to call you friends.

Irene and Sam | California Coast Wedding

This April I had another wonderful opportunity of capturing one of my favorite kind of weddings – global weddings! That, plus I had the sweetest opportunity of shooting my dear friend, Irene’s wedding! Irene and I have been friends since college days and have shared: a genuine love of God, free-spirited souls and independent hearts. There has always been something so special and unique about here. One of the things I have loved and appreciated most about her is that she has never chosen to take the easy road in life. Little did I know just a few years later I would do the honors of capturing her beautiful day! After travelling up there through the San Marcos Pass and past Santa Barbara on a roadtrip with a car full of old college girlfriends – I was completely ecstatic to capture their beautiful day!

Travelling all the way from Spain, Irene and Sam had their second wedding ceremony in Irene’s hometown at the Atascadero Lake Park which is just 20 minutes north of San Luis Obispo. Together with Irene’s American family and friends, they extended their joy and celebration after their initial ceremony in L’Escala Espana, a beautiful fortress off the Costa Brava, the east coast of Spain.

Irene has lived in Spain for over 4 years now teaching English and leading a language school and Sam is a Catalan by birth. I have pretty much always envisioned her marrying a Spanish man, so it wasn’t a surprise to find out he was a Catalan! Though their story began as a love hate connection on a South African missionary trip their story has now become a fiery bed of hot love.

Irene & Sam’s California coast wedding was topped off with special highlights including a handicapped choir and a mariachi band. Her dress, shoes and sleeves were special pieces of heritage worn by her mother in her mother’s wedding. This day brought me so much joy and I am completely excited to see what the future enfolds for these dear friends of mine! A HUGE shout out and thank you to my talented second photographer and friend, Christina Cho!

Don’t you just absolutely adore the one on the top right that Christina took??

And of course I had to save the best for last….:-)

Ruche | Downtown Fullerton Vintage Styled Bridal Shoot

Earlier this month I had the dreamy opportunity of shooting a styled vintage bridal shoot for Ruche in their new 38,000 sq. ft. warehouse location in downtown Fullerton. Ruche is one of my favorite independent online boutiques that features affordable vintage inspired dresses and everything else in between from shoes to sweaters – all with a modern touch. Established just four years ago in 2008 by husband and wife team Mai and Josh Olivo, the business all began with Mai’s hobby of selling vintaged inspired beaded sandals on Ebay. As the fashion for those faded, Mai continued the hunt for new items she adored. What began as a hobby after their 8-5 jobs, has quickly grown into a dream for the two today. I love when dreams come true! Today they are able to support small boutique brands and indie designers. You can view their newest Lookbook here featuring their vintage Bridal Collection.

I will confess that I have been eyeballing their collection since wedding planning days so when I was invited by Ning to join this special styled shoot, I did a somersault in the air! Not to mention the fact that I have been fantasizing myself shooting in a warehouse in an discrete location for quite some time. Alas, I am so honored to be featuring their clothing collection in my work.   Major props to Ning, Brett and Steph who made this happen. It was an incredible honor shooting alongside you all. Thank you so much for including me in this sweet opportunity.

Models: Krystal, Katelyn, Mia, Sandy | Hair: Shyan Bailey of Couture Bridal Styling | Make-Up Artist: Natalie Morisoli of Beach Bridal Beauty | Florals: Ann of White Sakuras | Clothing & Accessories: shopruche.com

Come back next week to see what’s new!

Katie | French Infused Modern Vintage Bridal Shower

I have seriously been wanting to do one of these for awhile now so the minute I was invited to shoot this sweet French infused modern vintage bridal shower for Katie, I jumped on the opportunity! Stylized by who other than her talented maid of honor, Melissa Klausman of Ellie Rose Photographie and bridesmaids, the shower was as fun as it was memorable. Tying in lace, lockets, architectural salvage and vintage books owned by Melissa husband, the colors of sea foam, pink and gray were spread around.  Katie is a gorgeous almost-hitched bride whose inner warmth and huge heart draws others in like a magnet. All of the love and care that was put into the minutest of details to make this shower memorable was a huge testament to just how special person she is, not to mention all of her friends have incredibly sweet souls to match. Melissa, you did mega amazing work here as an event planner. Congratulations to Katie and Joseph – 25 more days and counting!
