I am proud to share this summer fashion editorial cultivated in the hopes of bringing attention to local artists and businesses who are keen on giving back to the community. Market bags from Apolis promote jobs and income for underprivileged women in Bangladesh and other countries, while bicycles from Around the Cycle is a consignment bike shop dedicated to local and global sustainability through recycled bicycle parts.

My cousin Betty is getting married in NY next month. Last month we got together, popped a few bottles of champagne and celebrated her singleness at her bridal shower in her gorgeous Los Feliz home. Congrats Betty!

Spring Florals by Emblem Flowers

The past 2 months have been an exciting time for me. I’ve had the opportunity of exploring greater depths and widths with my art and entering into a few exciting collaborations that I’m excited to share with you all soon. As an ode to March I thought I’d give an ode to last month’s exciting spring floral collaboration featuring the gorgeous work of Charmain of Emblem Flowers for Freutcake blog. I’m in love with the rich creaminess of these tones along with the bold pops of color. Head on over there to find out how to make it.

Last month I had the beautiful opportunity of photographing Elizabeth Eichhorn, founder and owner of Mary Lee Kitchens at her pop-up shop at ArtisanalLA in Pasadena. Elizabeth is all about creating a space in today’s menus for those with dietary restrictions. To do this, her business focuses on discovering recipes that are both sustainable and delicious (as exemplified by her most delicious gluten-free cookies!), and educating others in allergy-sensitive foods. Her heart is to bring community back to the table and she’s doing a pretty good job of it. Thanks Elizabeth for having me along!

Ann // Pasadena, CA

I love taking photos of people who know how to love well. This is my friend Ann. She just got back from an amazing 1 year adventure in Malawi loving the Yao people freely. A year ago she sold her car, packed up her belongings and was off to Africa. This summer she’s back in Southern California to begin a new chapter.
