Mini Sessions in June

Hi guys! It’s been a long 7 months since we’ve left the states for the far away land of Nepal for a few personal projects of ours. It’s been good, it’s been hard, but mostly good and absolutely worth it. In fact, I would never trade the experience for a thing. I went to Nepal to get into new branches of work I haven’t gone into before without any promise of what would happen when I returned. Well, I’m returning in 2 months this June and hopefully, I won’t fall flat on my face.

This June I’ll be back with a boom to hit off the 2014 wedding season.

To celebrate, we’ll be doing a West Coast Mini tour where I’ll be throwing 30 minute mini-sessions up and down the California coast to see old friends and clients we’ve missed for the past year, and to visit the sights and sounds we’ve missed so much since we’ve been gone. We’ll be hitting up Irvine, Los Angeles and San Francisco for couples, singles and families. Plus, it’ll be a fun way to see you again!

What is a mini session? It’s a 30 minute photo session designed for couples, singles or families to get an update on your photos.

Here is the June 2014 West Coast Tour Itinerary:

June 7:  Bernal Heights, San Francisco, Time: 5:30-8:30PM

June 14 Malibu Hills, Los Angeles, Time: 5:00-8:00PM

June 21 Quail Hill, Irvine, Time: 5:00-8:00PM

DETAILS: Each 30 minute mini session is $150.00- extra person charge after 5 people is $20.00 per person. A non-refundable payment in full is due to retain your space. Should it rain, boo! The rain out date will be scheduled.

Come join us in celebrating this joyous occasion! So who’s in?!? Spread the word everyone!

The Jettons // Pasadena, CA

Very rarely does Robbie come out to play with me on photoshoots but this one was one of the exceptional few. The Jettons are an amazing family. Their kids are the most precious and their parents even more astounding. I love this family so much…my heart bursts every time I think of them. Rhodalynn is like an older sister to me…more like a hero. When I watch her live life, I am inspired by her heart for justice, her love for others and her passion for change…so much that it has brought me to tears. Why are their kids the most precious? When Judah heard news Robbie and I would be coming over for this shoot, he told his parents…”Robbie and Maritha are my best friends!” And then…when I went over to deliver the photos, Josiah, his little brother texted me and said…”Aunty Maritha, this is Josiah. Goodbye and thanks.” The way these kids love is so amazing. I hope you’ll enjoy.

The Brodericks // Santa Monica, CA Family Session

I was so elated to capture the beauty of these two sisters, Kelsey and Shannon, together with their parents one breezy evening in May, as I captured the moment of their reunion in what had been over a year since their last time together. Though it was for just a few fleeting moments, I was in awe of how stunning they looked in their elegant bright colored dresses flowing in the wind the way that they did. Daughters to two lawyers, Kelsey and Shannon, both graduates of Stanford University, are gorgeously slender, exceptionally intelligent, deeply caring women among so much more. Random fact of the day….Kelsey speaks way better Mandarin than I do. Love to you guys.

Playdate // Pasadena, CA

I’ve gotten to follow the life of Taylor since she was in her mother’s tummy till when she was born…up until now. Now that she is a one-year-old sassy chick with a little friend, I was so honored when her Kenyan mother, Juniah and friend, Gladys, asked me to capture these sweet memories together with their youn’ens on this fun playdate we set up in Pasadena, CA. Here are some of my favorite pics from our afternoon hanging out at Eaton Canyon.

Melissa | Great Plains Inspired Maternity Session

There are few shoots I wake up at the crack of dawn for…in fact none, except for this one. That’s right, I woke up before the cock crowed. For this shoot I was inspired by the freedom of the Great Plains Indians.  Melissa is a friend and talented photographer who carries a special place in my heart…she is wife to a loving husband, mother to the cutest little girl, and they are all expecting a baby girl any day, any moment now. Five years ago, Melissa and Micah were the first couple ever to ask me shoot an engagement for them, so it meant the world to me when Melissa asked me once again to capture these memories for them at this stage of her pregnancy. Melissa and Micah, I am beyond excited for you two !  Melissa, you make pregnancy look so good.
