I first got to know this beautiful family as friends before we left for Nepal. We connected through our common love for international countries…in which they have spent extensive time in. When I was invited to take these photos, I was floored at the chance of capturing one of the beautiful ways they commonly spend time as a family: taking little Joshua to the park to run around, and play fun games. I adore the simplicity, joy and energy of their relationship with each other. Thank you for having me along!

Mini Sessions in June

It’s been a long 9 months since we’ve left the states for the far away land of Nepal for a few personal projects of ours. It’s been wild, it’s been great, but mostly good and absolutely worth it. In fact, I would never trade the experience for a thing. I went to Nepal to get into new branches of work I haven’t gone into before without any promise of what would happen when I returned. Well, I’m returning in 4 days on June 1st to continue wedding and portrait photography in the states with a new perspective to continue my journey in art.

To celebrate, we’ll be going up and down the California Coast (yes…driving!) to see old friends and clients we’ve missed for the past year, revisit sights and sounds we’ve missed the past 9 months, and I’ll be taking pictures along the way. Plus, it’s a really good excuse for us to see everyone again :-)

Here’s our June 2014 itinerary where I’m currently booking 30 minute mini-photo sessions:

June 5: Berkeley, CA
June 7-8: Bernal Heights, San Francisco
June 10: Lema Ranch, Redding, CA
June 13: Las Vegas, NV
June 14: Malibu Hills, Los Angeles
June 21: Quail Hill, Irvine

What is a mini session? A 30 minute photo session designed for couples, singles or families where I photograph you and you get to be you. Photos are delivered 2-3 weeks later on a disc at which time print orders can also be made.

DETAILS: Each 30 minute mini session is $150.00. If booking for >5 people, each additional person is $20. A non-refundable payment in full is due to retain your space. Should it rain, boo! We’ll be sure to schedule a make-up date.

Space is limited so e-mail me at marithasears@gmail.com to grab your spot today! Hope to see you there.

Mini Sessions in June

Hi guys! It’s been a long 9 months since we’ve left the states for the far away land of Nepal for a few personal projects of ours. It’s been good, it’s been hard, but mostly good and absolutely worth it. In fact, I would never trade the experience for a thing. I went to Nepal to get into new branches of work I haven’t gone into before without any promise of what would happen when I returned. Well, I’m returning in 5 days this June and hopefully, I won’t fall flat on my face.

This June I’ll be back with a boom to hit off the 2014 wedding season.

To celebrate, we’re doing a West Coast Mini tour where I’ll be throwing 30 minute mini-sessions up and down the California coast to see old friends and clients we’ve missed for the past year, and to visit the sights and sounds we’ve missed so much since we’ve been gone. We’ll be hitting up Irvine, Los Angeles and San Francisco for couples, singles and families. Plus, it’ll be a fun way to see you again!

What is a mini session? It’s a 30 minute photo session designed for couples, singles or families where I photograph you and you get to just smile and relax. Photos are delivered 2-3 weeks later on a disc for you to print out wherever you’d like.

The Jettons // Pasadena, CA

Very rarely does Robbie come out to play with me on photoshoots but this one was one of the exceptional few. The Jettons are an amazing family. Their kids are the most precious and their parents even more astounding. I love this family so much…my heart bursts every time I think of them. Rhodalynn is like an older sister to me…more like a hero. When I watch her live life, I am inspired by her heart for justice, her love for others and her passion for change…so much that it has brought me to tears. Why are their kids the most precious? When Judah heard news Robbie and I would be coming over for this shoot, he told his parents…”Robbie and Maritha are my best friends!” And then…when I went over to deliver the photos, Josiah, his little brother texted me and said…”Aunty Maritha, this is Josiah. Goodbye and thanks.” The way these kids love is so amazing. I hope you’ll enjoy.

The Brodericks // Santa Monica, CA Family Session

I was so elated to capture the beauty of these two sisters, Kelsey and Shannon, together with their parents one breezy evening in May, as I captured the moment of their reunion in what had been over a year since their last time together. Though it was for just a few fleeting moments, I was in awe of how stunning they looked in their elegant bright colored dresses flowing in the wind the way that they did. Daughters to two lawyers, Kelsey and Shannon, both graduates of Stanford University, are gorgeously slender, exceptionally intelligent, deeply caring women among so much more. Random fact of the day….Kelsey speaks way better Mandarin than I do. Love to you guys.
