Eric & Katrina | Rowland Heights Engagement

I will have to confess that this session, by far, has got to be one of my favorite engagement sessions to date. Tucked into the ends of Rowland Heights, these cow fields were a dream to photograph with its wide expanses and knee high waving grass…It’s a like a long lost friend I have been looking near and far for and it was just the perfect field for Katrina and Eric’s intimate engagement session.

Katrina and Eric are a down to earth couple who love baseball (diehard Dodgers fans) and having a good laugh. Eric is probably one of the most patient guys I will ever have the opportunity to photograph and Katrina has the best comeback lines ever, plus whatever she touches turns to golden laughter. While having the honor of working with Katrina over the last year, Katrina has genuinely made my job funner, easier and more laughable having her by my side. I love that they chose to bring their puppy, Baby Girl as their living prop : ) Together Katrina and Eric make the cutest couple ever. I am so very excited to capture your big day in just a few weeks K&E! A huge shoutout to my second shooter, Elim Pan for awesome assistance in this shoot and wonderful eye!!!!

Nice shot here from Elim! It’s a keeper.

Check back next week to see a beautiful La Jolla Wedding!

Or, leave me lots of love below :)

Romin & Naomi | La Jolla Engagement Session

I am proud to release the photos of my second engagement session of the year. I couldn’t wait to post these! And, yes I do travel in case you’re wondering. Last month I hopped in my car and drove down to San Diego see these two cool cats.

Romin and Naomi are an extremely fun duo with a passion for people and permanent smile lines across their faces to prove it. Their love for each other is so evident and I was giddy to get to capture their love. Their huge hearts for people are undeniable and when hearts like these collide, their love for each other totally explodes like fabulous roman candles. I love that their fun loving and unabashedly cute personalities show through the photographs taken below. After getting a glimpse of this wall in the preceding weeks, the mosaic wall was Romin’s idea to shoot at. Coincidentally their colorful personalities blend well. Fun masks and paper bouquet were compliments of Naomi.

I could not help myself from smiling behind the camera pretty much the entire time as I stood there observing and shooting. I really didn’t have to tell them to do a lot. I suppose I tend to shoot the naturals. : )

Thank you so much to the talented April Brown for second shooting with me!

P.S. I could not get enough of these photos as I was editing them. Enjoy and pass on the love!

I love this top right image April took.

Top left image thanks to April!

Brandon + Erica | Pasadena Engagement Session

Editing a single photo is like having a baby. So imagine editing like 200 or 300 and you might begin to understand the process…;-) I’ve been super busy trying to find the edits….here is what occurred.

Erica has been an incredibly special friend of mine since college days…she was one of the first people I met in college freshman year and has seen my work since the beginning of my days…back in the day when I was cranking out unattractively clash-y and contrasty pictures down to a T. Basic as it is, she was the first to teach me how to introduce myself to new people and feel like a million bucks doing it.

She also taught me a thing or two about class and is in fact probably the classiest girl I know. Together with Brandon they are the classiest couple I know. If you ever get to know them, you will not find one negative thing to say about them. Don’t you just love couples like that?

My goal on this shoot was to capture their love for one another in the most authentic way. I like my photography to be real, breathy and airy. I never told them to smile or fake a laugh once in this photoshoot. Their passion for life and loyalty are possibly the most contagious of people.  I had a blast with this shoot. And then it rained and even in the rain they stuck with me! Their love for one another is raw and beautiful – sunshine or rain (literally). I didn’t have to tell them to do a whole lot…they were naturals. Her radiant smile pierces through these photographs and makes you want to smile too. And the way he looks at her shows just how terribly in love they are with each other. And I loved capturing every minute of the hour I had with them. So excited for July 6, 2012!!!!

Mack and Della | Pasadena, CA

Pasadena, California engagement shoot – Mack and Della’s wedding is in a few weeks. I jumped on the opportunity when I heard she’d be in L.A. for a trial run with her make-up artist (don’t you think she did a great job?) who happened to be in L.A. We decided to make a break for some fun shots while frolicking around town. I had the time of my life shooting this couple with many impromptu moments full of giggles and laughter.
