Faith, Matt and Parker | Monrovia Canyon Family Portraits

Getting asked to take photos of your sister and her family is probably one of the highest honors I can have as a photographer…the high honors came when Faith asked me to take their holiday photos in time for her soon to be ordered cards. The photographs are always a little more special when someone that close to your heart is the subject of them. A little tight for time, and struggling for some decent lighting during the 10-11 slot I had, I was nicely overwhelmed by these stunners that came out…and even hit the rim lighting on the nail. There are way too many good ones to share of this gorgeous family. Thanks to this shoot, Parker’s little face will be posted on the front of my refrigerator for a year or mas (I tend to keep the oldies up there). Thank you so much Faith, Matt and Parker for letting me do this shoot!

Aren’t they so attractive??

Mommy and Daddy sandwiches are the best.

…stay tuned for more holiday shoots!

The Chan Clan | Newport Beach Family Portrait Session

If there’s one thing to know about the Chan Clan it’s the fact that they know how to show you a good time. When I was younger, I had the privilege of having four uncles who knew how to spoil my sister and I. From the time I was in my teeny toddler years to my teenage years, my Uncle Curtis was one who knew how to give my sister and I a fun ride. When times were dull as a kid, Uncle Curtis would take us around on fun excursions to anywhere and everywhere exciting that my parents might have lacked the energy for – Seaworld, Disneyland, Mission Beach, boogie boarding, golfing, and the list would go on and on.  Today I am so happy that he’s passed that love juice onto his wife, and four kids Michelle, Jonathan, Grace and Matthew. From spending just a few hours with them, I can see the Chan family’s spice for life has continued on even past my childhood years. I could see so much joy in their family as oodles of giggles and laughter were captured on my camera from the shoot.

Each year they go on a photo excursion to get their yearly family portraits taken, to be sent out on Christmas cards. My Aunty Mae and Uncle Curtis are a very well connected couple and typically will send out a couple hundred Christmas cards to friends and family each year. I like to call her the Martha Stewart in our family. Not only she is super gifted at hospitality and entertaining, she also has her own floral business she started from the ground up from which she can boast over 20 years of floral design and event planning experience. Out of all the people she could have asked, this year I was SO privileged to be asked by Aunty Mae to do their Christmas photos! Don’t you think she did a splendid job picking out their outfits? Here are the photos that entailed! Enjoy : )
